As more states open up for businesses with a resultant increase in consumers into the public, the news is instantly going to jump on any increase in rates of COVID. Fear sells. How do you decide if you should stay at home or head into the world? You ask questions.

Lots of memes are going around social media platforms that warn of the 2nd wave of COVID-19 in the fall. They are often captioned with a reference to the Spanish Flu of 1918-1919. So let’s take a look why I think this will happen under current circumstances and how it can be mitigated.

My desire of having life return to normal isn’t because of economic ones but because of immunity ones, which will actually save lives. If we are going to prevent the recurrence of this again, we need healthy people exposed. You can’t create immunity without exposure.

I think functional medicine principles can help tremendously in the Corona crisis, not just from a personal health benefit but a policy assessment benefit. The biggest thing functional medicine has taught me is to ask better questions. So here is a question that has been running through my head since the media has created mass panic with the word PANDEMIC.

The best advice I have ever been given is the extremely vague advice ‘be comfortable with uncertainty.’ So how do I create comfort when there is chaos? I tap into the creative side of the brain.
